NVE Bank Grants $1,000 Scholarships to 10 Local High School Students

NVE Bank hosted their 4nd Annual Scholarship Reception on June 28th, where they awarded ten $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from the local area. Additionally, NVE Bank extended their program to seven of the area middle schools with a $500 Savings Product Scholarship. "It is inspiring to see such involvement in our community in this manner. Thank you so much for your generosity," noted Northern Valley Demarest High School graduate, Michael Levine.
NVE Bank's Scholarship Program was commenced to give back to the communities they serve while trying to alleviate the costs associated with a achieving a higher education. "We are very proud to be a part of this special time in the graduates lives and to be able to give back to the communities we serve," said Robert Rey, President of NVE Bank.
NVE Bank's high school scholarship recipients included; Ninva Bekdas -New Milford High School, Shayna Holmes-Teaneck High School, Shira Goldstein-Bergenfield High School, Michael Levine-Northern Valley Demarest High School, Annalise Rodriguez-Leonia High School, Joel Estrada-Academies at Englewood, Shamir Peterkin-Dwight Morrow High School, Sharon Chen-Tenafly High School, Rachel Oates-Cresskill High School and John Thievon-Pascack Valley High School.

Englewood, NJ, July 18th, 2011 NVE Bank recently received the 2011 Readers' Choice Award from the Jewish Standard publication. "We are extremely honored to be voted favorite community bank among the Jewish Standard readers in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic Counties," noted Robert Rey, President of NVE Bank.
NVE was given "thumbs up" as the best in its category of community banks, by close to 1,000 voters that responded to the weekly publications survey. All winners will be showcased in a special addition of the magazine on July 29th, which will be inserted into The Jewish Standard.

NVE Bank recently received the 2010 Community Service Award from the NJBankers Association for their participation and efforts in improving the lives of NJ citizens and the communities they serve. "I believe that the NVE Team does an outstanding job at participating in local service organizations and charitable events. NVE Bank was awarded this honor at the 2011 NJBankers Convention for their community efforts throughout 2010. Awards were considered based on community involvement and asset size, and NVE was selected over a group of numerous NJ banks. NVE Bank's involvement included participation with the March of Dimes Walk, Teach Children to Save Program, their Annual Scholarship Program, the Woman's Club of Leonia and Englewood Hospital's Walk for Awareness to name a few. The NJBankers Association will compile a book to share with legislators and the media showing the contributions of community banks.
"This not only confirms our commitment to our customers and neighbors, but demonstrates in these tough economic times why customers belong here and what a positive impact we make together at each and every event," added Mr. Rey.

Robert Rey, President of NVE Bank, is pleased to announce that NVE Bank joined Rebuilding Together Bergen County (RTBC) on April 30th, as part of National Rebuilding Day in Englewood, NJ.
NVE Bank had over 14 employees volunteer to paint, garden and make repairs to the Bergen Family Center, the oldest continuously operating family service agency in Bergen County. Additionally, NVE donated $6,000 to Rebuilding Together Bergen County to assist with providing free home repairs and modifications for low-income homeowners. "We are committed to making a difference in the communities that we serve," noted Mr. Rey.
NVE volunteers worked diligently alongside other Rebuilding Together friends and volunteers, including members of the Junior League of Bergen County and Church of the Atonement in Tenafly. In addition to the work at the Bergen Family Center, more than 300 Rebuilding Together volunteers worked at seven homes across the county on National Rebuilding Day.
"Over the last thirteen years, we have completed some two hundred projects in Bergen County," said RTBC president MaryEllen Doster. "We are always grateful to see corporate sponsors like NVE come out to support the work at the home or community building their funding supports."
